People from Mohali need not cross Chandigarh for going to Delhi
With the completion of new bridge in Jagatpura, the commuters will have no need to cross Chandigarh while going to Delhi via Zirakpur now. The bridge will be operational by the end of this month.
The completion of the bridge is not only give a sigh of relief for the residents of around 20 villages but it will also cut short the distance for going to Delhi from Mohali.
The officials of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) said that the bridge worth Rs. 3. 41 crore is being constructed over runnel at Jagatpura village and it will be opened for the general public in the next 15 days.
The officials said that keeping in view the general inconvenience besides facilitating the traffic, the Punjab government has decided to construct a new high level bridge there. It was explained that the new high level bridge would be 182.43-foot long and 42-foot wide which would enable heavy vehicles to pass over it.
The officials said that bridge was constructed with using modern construction techniques, so that it would not get damaged due to heavy rain flow during monsoons and that the traffic during monsoon also does not get affected.
